Day trip from Essaouira
Souk El Had, Agadir One of the largest markets in Africa: thirteen gates, thousands of stalls, and everything Morocco sells.

Why people like it
Agadir was rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, so its medina is modern; the city's real heart is the Souk El Had, a walled market the size of a small town. Inside, each quarter has its trade: spices and dried fruit, olives and argan, leather and babouches, pottery, carpets, clothes, and a produce hall that feeds the whole region. Prices are lower than in Marrakech or Essaouira and the sellers are used to locals, not tour groups. A day here pairs naturally with the rest of Agadir: the cable car up to the Oufella kasbah for the view over the bay, the marina and the beach promenade.
What you can do
- Shop the souk by quarter: spices, argan oil and amlou, olives and dates, leather, pottery, carpets, clothes.
- Eat in the market or at a grill nearby; the fruit stalls alone are worth a stop.
- Ride the cable car to the Oufella kasbah ruins for the view over Agadir bay.
- Walk the beach promenade and the marina, or swim.
- Add Crocoparc, the crocodile garden south of the city, if children are with you.
Good to know

Closed on Mondays; liveliest Saturday and Sunday. A long day: leave early and come back for dinner. Bring room in the bags, we have room in the car. Can be combined with Taghazout or Imsouane on the way back.
How it works
- You choose the date, the departure time and the return time. Nothing is fixed in advance.
- Your driver takes you there, waits for you on site and brings you back. You visit at your own pace, no guide, no group.
- We reply with one price for the car, whatever the number of passengers it carries. You pay the driver on the day.
